AZTEC Information Systems was founded in Sydney, Australia in 1995 and is now Australia’s leading provider of scan data services to consumer packaged goods retailers and manufacturers.

Aztec's core offerings include value-added data processing and reporting, leading edge user friendly software, training and client service support across the grocery, drug, liquor, mass merchant and gas/convenience channels.

In 1999, AZTEC took its proven “Data Agency” model and launched successfully into the New Zealand market where it quickly established itself as the market leader. In 2004 and 2005 capabilities were extended further afield with the establishment of offices in Thailand, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

In March 2005, AZTEC joined the Synovate global research group and began trading as Synovate Aztec. With the backing of this multi-national, leading global research company behind it, Aztec acquired South African based Infocy in September 2006 and established a strong foothold with CPG clients in this important African market.
